Summary
Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform Industrial Maintenance duties at our Edible Oil Refinery located on Zion Church Road in Salisbury, MD.
To ensure continuous oil refinery operations by performing assigned maintenance duties within scope of class to include but not limited to equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, emergency breakdowns and equipment failure, boiler operations, and water softener system operations.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, boilers, and water softener equipment. Diagnose failures to mechanical equipment and make repairs. Rebuild mechanical equipment. Perform pipe fitting and pump and valve repairs. Compile and complete paperwork relative to repairs to include but not limited to work orders, time cards, and job cards. Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies.
Minimum Education
•High School or equivalent
•Advanced Technical or Maintenance training preferred
Experience Requirements
4 plus years. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment. Requires knowledge of math that relates to performing maintenance activities. Able to make correct calculations when completing mechanical, electrical or electronic maintenance repairs. Able to verify dimensions and diagrams for assembly, disassembly and troubleshooting purposes. Able to determine clearance of parts to ensure conformance to specification using precision measuring instruments. Valid driver’s license.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Able to move freely throughout the Oil Refinery facility to include climbing vertical heights (0 – 150′), carrying equipment or tools (50-100 pounds). Exposed to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 – 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (SDS sheets available). Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self contained breathing apparatus.
